Therapeutic relationships are enhanced by the quality of our presence and our approach to dialogue with our clients. The creation of a therapeutic dialogue is an art informed by awareness of our own internal states and that of our clients. Different people respond or require different forms of dialogue or engagement. This course will explore using Focusing Techniques to support clients to explore and clarify internal states using the felt sense and interoceptive experience. Participants will learn to identify and work with states that can block or stop a process by supporting an embodied, somatically informed relationship to self and supporting our clients to be in direct relationship to their own embodied states.
Teachings are appropriate for healthcare professionals as well as the general public. Healthcare professionals will be able to incorporate the tools and practices offered in this program in ways beneficial to clients or patients.
