Jeremy Yamashiro

Jeremy began asana practice at the age of 16 in the mountains of Utah, and a meditation practice shortly thereafter. In 2004 he received the Bodhisattva precepts from Genpo Roshi in the Maezumi lineage. He is currently a PhD candidate in cognitive psychology at The New School for Social Research. Jeremy's research interests were shaped by a formative encounter with Gregory BatesonÕs concept of an ecology of mind, in which mind is conceived as transformations of information over heterogenous, self-referencing, dynamical structures. His current research involves empirical work on distributed and extended cognition, and social influences on remembering and collective memory. He Êlives in New York.
